Thank you to Sr. Mary Peters for providing us with the following tidbits on prayer.
• The secret is to say in the flow of reality ─ to be open before God; to look at the "real" in our lives and be able to be in touch with that.
• Life teaches us to pray and drags us to it; sometimes we sit exposed and in pain; vulnerable.
• The word "Spirit" derives from the Latin word "breathe," in Latin ─ "Spiritus" ─ "where God dwells."
• We too are "prayers." Each of us is a unique prayer that God gave to the human family.
• Sometimes we become "de-spirited" ─ we need to feel "in-spired" or "in-spirited" again.
• Take a deep breath and remember who we are in the core of our being.
Prayer is ...
• "... a capacity to walk in touch with God through everything in life. It's a consciousness; an immersion and relationship." ─ Sr. Joan Chittister
• "... living in conscious union with God. We are given the Spirit, the indwelling Presence that prays in us, through us and for us; to allow the Spirit to pray through us; Reliance on an indwelling Presence." ─ Richard Rohr
• not dualistic, meaning, not black and white ─ it's gray. Life is gray.
Be still and know that I am God
