Penance (Reconciliation)
Reconciliation is about relationship - renewing our relationship with God, self and others; it's about forgiveness. Whatever a child's preparation and celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation may look like, the primary lessons about forgiveness and acceptance continue to stem from their family experience.
Most of peoples' struggles with right and wrong, hurt and reconciliation ─ especially during childhood ─ are first experienced at home. The more that children, as well as adults, see the connection between the Sacrament of Reconciliation and their daily life, the more meaningful the sacrament will be.
If you are interested in preparing your child for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, please call our Vicar, Fr. Juan Zarate or send an email to jzarate@stphilipcong.org.
